Streams, audio only

OBS recording to MP3

OBS records to MKV by default, which many players and editors won't open. Pull the audio out as MP3 — handy for podcasts, voice-overs and stream highlights.

Questions people ask

My recording has several audio tracks.
The first (main mix) track is used. For separate tracks, remux in OBS first.
Is my OBS file uploaded anywhere?
No. The conversion runs inside this browser tab with FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly. The file is read from your device and never sent over the network, so private conversations stay private.
Is there a size or daily limit?
No server limit and no daily cap. The practical ceiling is your device memory; desktops handle multi-gigabyte files, phones are happiest with an hour or two at a time.
Can I convert several files at once?
Yes. Queue up to 60 files; each shows its own progress and you can download them one by one or as a single ZIP.
