Meetings, audio only

Webex recording to MP3

Webex saves meetings as MP4. Strip the video and keep a small MP3 you can play anywhere — without sending a confidential meeting to a stranger's server.

Where to find the file

Webex web portal → Recordings → pick the meeting → Download. Local recordings sit in Documents / WebEx by default.

Step by step

  1. 1. Download the recording

From the Webex site open Recordings and download the MP4, or find the local file in Documents / WebEx.

  2. 2. Drop it in and pick MP3

Only the audio is processed, so even a long meeting finishes quickly.

  3. 3. Pick a bitrate

96 kbps is plenty for speech; use 192 kbps for webinars with music.

Questions people ask

Does the older .arf Webex format work?
No. Convert .arf to MP4 with the Webex Network Recording Player first, then drop the MP4 here.
Is my Webex file uploaded anywhere?
No. The conversion runs inside this browser tab with FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly. The file is read from your device and never sent over the network, so private conversations stay private.
Is there a size or daily limit?
No server limit and no daily cap. The practical ceiling is your device memory; desktops handle multi-gigabyte files, phones are happiest with an hour or two at a time.
Can I convert several files at once?
Yes. Queue up to 60 files; each shows its own progress and you can download them one by one or as a single ZIP.
